These four (4) types of licenses are offered when doing a Sharjah Media City company setup:
Trading License
Allows the import and export of goods within the Shams Free Zone. This includes selling wholesale and retail goods, along with other related services.
Industrial License
Industrial License
Allows business activities related to the production and transformation of natural resources into finished goods.
Service License
Allows services provided by professionals reliant on their skills, talent, and ability.
Holding License
Enable standalone or stakes in other companies. It is important to note that you need a holding company for controlling other companies and properties including real estate and other assets.

- Online pre-approval application form
- Proof of residential address in country of residence (A utility bill or bank statement)
- Business profile
- Third-party approvals for specific regulated business activities
- Copy of your passport (Along with your UAE residence visa and a copy of your Emirates’ ID, if applicable)
- Business plan (depends on activities)
- Details of an office address in DMCC free zone (JLT)
- Copies of parent company documents if it’s a branch company formation. (Required after the company has been registered)
